Another week down and you want to rest. You've got your work done and you've given your best. So while your on a winning streak, check out the Rock Anthem of the Week.
This weeks Rock Anthem of the Week is Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue
This power ballad from their 1985 release Theater of Pain was a remarkable departure for The Crue. The bad boy's from the Sunset Strip showed a more sensative side with this song depicting life on the road.
With Tommy Lee manning the piano, the song starts with a simple yet effective descending chord progression while Vince Neal put's the screaming on hold to softly sing the opening lines of the song. The song gets a boost of adrennaline in the chorus then settles down for another verse.
Mick Mars kicks into a high octane solo that fits the song well. The band keeps the energy up throughout the solo leading to a final chorus before ending with Mr. Lee's piano.
This song captures a lot of emotion yet still rocks. Anyone who has seen Motely Crue live know's how powerful this song is. A great rock anthem for all of us who are longing for home.
