Wire it up right

I've been in a mood for a change lately. I've been thinking about changing out the pickups in one or two of my guitars. Fortunately I've been doing that since I was 15 so I am very comfortable. For those of you that aren't sure what to do if you want to swap out pickups, fix a wiring problem, or just mod away like a mad scientist, here are a few sites with some great information on guitar wiring.

Seymour Duncan
Not only can you find out which pickups may be right for you, you can find the correct wiring diagram. From simple one pickup guitars to three pickups with coil splitting, Seymour Duncan has it all. There are even a few videos to help you along.

Stewart McDonald
Stewart MacDonald has long been as a great resource for luthier supplies. They also have great free info for all aspects of guitar building and repair. They have wiring diagrams for all types of installations. I also find it helpful that they have product links to the items you may need to get the job done right next to the diagram.

GuitarElectronics.com
Guitarelectronics.com has a pretty comprehensive library of diagrams. They cover all the major manufactures color coding to help wire it up right. You can even download and print the archived diagrams.

I'm sure there are many more sites on the web that deal with the repair and modification of guitars but these three sites have been my go to sites for any and all wiring and pickup info.
