Rock Anthem of the Week: August 7th

It's Friday again and we've made it through. Now it's time to take care of you. It's time for some relaxation so take a drink. Check out the Rock Anthem of the Week.

This weeks anthem pays tribute to a band who has had their share of turmoil and trouble. Lately it seems these guys just can't catch a break. So while Mr. Tyler recuperates from falling of the stage, check out this rock anthem from the bad boys from Boston.

This weeks Rock Anthem of the Week is Dream On by Aerosmith.

The haunting chords at the beginning of this 1973 release instantly captures you. The dry, smokey voice of Stephen Tyler comes in and takes you deep into his soul as he sings about time passing.

The progression of the guitars from the haunting verse to the crunch laden chorus moves the song in a new direction. It's big, it's dramatic, and it makes this anthem a strong testament to the talent of these rockers from Boston. The song weaves in and out of the heavy and soft and crescendo's with Tyler's trademark screams.

Dream On is a timeless anthem from a band that to this day is still taking it on the road and showing how it's done.
