Tube History Archives

A few months ago I wrote a post about some documentaries and books on tubes and their history. I recently found this site which has an incredible amount of information on vacuum tubes. Its' got a time line, old advertisements and pictures of tubes of all shapes and sizes.

While the world may be enjoying the digital age, us guitarists are keeping a death grip on the tube technology that makes a Marshall scream and makes a Fender sing. The e is just something magical about the little glass bottles stuck in the back of our amps.

Whether you use new tubes from Groove Tubes or JJ or whether you are a NOS fanatic, you will find this site interesting if not intoxicating.

Check out the site and find yourself lost in a world tube technology.
