The AMZ voltage doubler.

Guitar players are always looking for that somehting extra.  Some will swap chips in a Tube Screamer until their eyes bleed.  Some will do cable shootouts until they can't hear anymore.  Another tone extra many go for is running certain Overdrive or Distortion pedals at 18 vlots.  This tends to open up the sound a little bit and get rid of some of the fizziness.  Of course your pedal has to be rated to handle 18 volts.  If it's not, you can damage some of the components.

The AMZ voltage doubler is a great way for those DIY inclined guitarists to be able to run a Pedal Power, One spot, or Fuel Tank and still push 18 volts to their Overdrive pedals. This simple circuit board is available from AMZ FX.  The cost for the board alone is $10 and $16 for the board and parts (excluding jacks and enclosure).

If your looking  to give your Distortion pedal a little something extra try the voltage doubler. It's a simple little circuit that could take your tone to the next level.  While your there, check out some of the other projects AMZ FX has cooked up.
